Our Mission: Sharing God's love in Nashville by caring for the homeless and displaced, while disrupting cycles of poverty. Non-Profit Statement: The Restoration Pointe is a ministry born out of McKendree United Methodist Church, that is a 501(c)(3) non-profit with its own board, staff and operating budget.

The Restoration Pointe encompasses and directs several ministries that provide services for the displaced and homeless neighbors in Nashville / Davidson County. The primary ministries include the 5 & 2 Meal (a weekly lunch), Clothes ReStore (free clothes giveaway), the Foundry Shelter (a temporary transitional housing for eight men), and soon, a free dental clinic.

Program Ministries
The Foundry Temporary Shelter:

The Foundry Temporary Shelter was created to be a restful, clean, learning, safe, transforming residential Christian environment for men who qualify for admission and willing to take the next steps in restoring their lives.

In addition to housing, training is offered in job placement, financial planning, wellness development, and conflict resolution. Each participant in The Foundry Temporary Shelter is assigned a life coach who helps in spiritual formation and goal setting. Weekly coaching happens with each participant.

Furthermore, the Foundry Temporary Shelter is a place where positive thinking and transitions can occur by men wanting to take responsibility for their lives by:

  • Seeking God’s will
  • Working to improve their living and spiritual condition
  • Studying and seeking employment that will help them to become independent in order to live in their own home, contribute to family, church and their community
  • Learning to manage their time, spiritual gifts and finances
  • Working to improve their physical and mental condition

Only male applicants are accepted to live in the Foundry Shelter at this time. A Women’s Temporary Shelter is being planned to open in the future.

The Clothes ReStore gives away free seasonal clothing and toiletry items to our displaced and homeless neighbors. During the opening hours of the Clothes ReStore, Thursday’s from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm, we need a minimum of five volunteers to greet our neighbors as they enter and to assist them as they choose items of clothes. Here are other volunteer opportunities with the Clothes ReStore :

FOLD AND ASSORT CLOTHES-- Volunteers are needed to sort, fold and put away clothing during the week when the Clothes ReStore is not open to our neighbors. We are flexible and can accommodate your individual or group schedule during business hours. Special times on Saturdays can be arranged in advanced. One to two hours per week, every other week, or once a month is helpful. All help is greatly appreciated.

5 & 2

Every Tuesday at 11:30 McKendree invites 100-150 hungry men and women in to eat a meal together. We need volunteers! You can volunteer weekly, biweekly, or once a month. If you can serve from 11:00am-12:30pm, please let us know.
